Rise early for a scenic drive to a forested hilltop viewpoint, where you’ll sip local coffee as the sun rises over the landscape. At a nearby village learning centre, discover the process of rubber manufacture and try your hand at rubber tapping before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Continue to a cave temple steeped in legend, explore tales of living stone and lost Chinese treasure, and watch the making of local snacks. After freshening up, say farewell to your hosts and journey to Thale Noi Waterfowl Reserve, one of Southeast Asia’s largest wetlands. En route, stop to see the crafting of traditional Pon drums and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before arriving at Sri Pak Phra Resort, beautifully set on the lakeside. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Begin the day with a short drive to a lakeside viewpoint and watch the sun rise over the iconic yor yak—stilted fishing platforms scattered across the water. Then embark on a tranquil boat trip through Thale Noi Waterfowl Reserve, home to over 180 species of birds nesting among lotus flowers, reeds, and grasses, with glimpses of water buffaloes swimming in the lake. After breakfast at a local coffee shop, browse krajud workshops, where artisans craft mats, baskets, and hats from hardy wetland grass. Late morning, drive back to Phatthalung with a stop at the Bamboo Garden for lunch.
