Kuiburi Community and Elephant Adventure

Join us on a very special trip to Kuiburi National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Along the way you will see, an historic former royal palace, meet delightful people in their communities and learn about their novel way of promoting forest conservation and travel through idyllic countryside. But the real highlight of this tour is a jeep safari into Kuiburi National Park. Here you will be awed by the spectacle of wild elephants roaming in their natural habitat. A sight all too rare in Thailand these days. This 4-day trip also includes Sam Roi Yod National Park and a beach resort in Pranburi.

Pick up from your hotel in Bangkok after breakfast and transfer to the station for the train to Phetchaburi. Arrive in Phetchaburi and have lunch at local restaurant. Take a local pickup truck to see Phetchaburi’s highlights, including Phra Nakorn Kiri or Khao Wang – the historic palace on a mountaintop. Then continue to Kaeng Krachan Dam to enjoy the idyllic scenery at sunset.  Drive to Baan Tum Sue Homestay and meet your host family. Have dinner with your host family and overnight at the homestay.

Day 2: Baan Tum Sue – Kui Buri   (B/L/D)

Start the day with kayaking on the Phetchaburi River and then join in the village activities. Taking a cue from one of the great philosophies of our late King “grow the forest in our heart first then grow seeds in the forest”, this homestay community has a unique activity to help "grow"

the forest, it is called a seed bomb: a clay ball with seeds mixed with fertilizer is dried hard in the sun and then launched into the forest by slingshot so dispersing the seeds over a wide area. Good for the environment and fun. Say goodbye to the local people and continue on to Kuiburi, arriving at around 15.30. Check in to your homestay and then drive to the National Park to in the company of park rangers to observe the wildlife; most spectacularly the sight of wild elephants that ranging freely through the park.

At around 18.00 leave the park and go to a nearby pineapple plantation and enjoy dinner with the local farmers who will explain how they have learned to coexist with the wild elephants in the park. After dinner return to your homestay for overnight.

Day 3: Kuiburi - Pranburi   (-B/L/D)

After breakfast take a tour of the village to learn about the local peoples’ way of life. Afterwards head off to Sam Roi Yod National Park. Arrive at the park and walk to the top of a mountain and enjoy the magnificent scenery. Then continue to Pranburi and arrive at the resort by lunchtime. The rest of day is free to relax and enjoy the beach. In the evening enjoy a fresh seafood dinner. Overnight at the resort.

Day 4:  Pranburi - Hua Hin- Bangkok   (B/L/-)

After breakfast  your morning is free to enjoy a relaxing morning on the beach. Have lunch and then leave for Hua Hin and drop off at the train station for the train back to Bangkok. Arrive Bangkok. End of services.
