The History of Kanchanaburi

Two Days Trip to Kanchanaburi and Saiyoke with all the important historical Highlights such as: River Kwai Bridge, Hellfire Pass, Krasae Cave and a canoeing Adventure


Day 1: Bangkok – Kanchanaburi – Saiyok Yai National Park (-,L,D)

Pick up from Bangkok accommodation at 07.30 and take the 2 ½-hour drive to Kanchanaburi, visit the famous Bridge over the River Kwai and afterwards continue to the Hellfire Pass, the longest cutting carved through the mountains during WWII. Take a walk along part of the original route of the Death Railway. After lunch continue to Saiyok Yai National park then take a trip by canoe for 2-3 hours and enjoy peaceful scenery along the river. End your day with a rafthouse at Saiyok Mantra Resort for dinner overnight.  

Day 2: Death Railway – Krasae Cave - Bangkok (B/L/-)

After breakfast drive to the Mon village of Pu Takein and learn about the Mon peoples’ culture and way of life.  Then continue to visit Krasae Cave and walk across the spectacular Wampo Viaduct. Afterwards have lunch at a local restaurant then board the train for a ride on the Death Railway with stunning views of the river far below. Before returning to Bangkok visit the historical park of Prasat Muang Sing, a Khmer-style sanctuary built around 13th century
