Day 1: Hanoi - Lac Son - Ngoc Son Ngo Luang Village (-/L/D)
Pick from your hotel in Hanoi at about 07.30 and head off on the 3 ½-hour drive to Lac Son District in Hoa Binh Province. In the late morning set off for an easy 2-hour trek to Mu Waterfall. Enjoy a picnic punch by the waterfall.
After lunch continue trekking through this beautiful scenery for about 2-3 hours to the Muong village of Ngoc Son Ngo Luong. The Muong are the third largest ethnic minority in Vietnam and live mainly in Hoa Binh Province. After arriving and meeting your homestay host family, explore the village and learn about their way of life. Enjoy a Muong dinner with your hosts and members of the community. Overnight in the family house.
Day 2: Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Hieu Village (B/L/D)
After an early breakfast say goodbye to you hosts and set off on a 5-6 hours trek along country tracks and paths through the beautiful Pu Luong Nature Reserve with a stop for a picnic lunch along the way. Mid-afternoon arrive at Hieu village where the people are ethnic Tai who are culturally and socially close to the Muong people though ethnically closer to the Vietnamese. After meeting your host family, relax and explore the village. In the evening enjoy a tradition Tai dinner with your hosts and members of the community and learn about their way of life.
Day 3: Hieu Village - Pho Doan - Hanoi B/L/-)
After breakfast say goodbye to your host family and then trek down from the hills for about 2 hours along country roads to Pho Doan. From there set off by road back to Hanoi, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive back in Hanoi at about 16.00 and check into your hotel. End of tour.
