Day 1: From Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta   (-/L/D)

 

Pick up from you hotel in Ho Chi Minh City at about 08.30 and drive for about 1 ½ hours to My Tho in the Mekong Delta.  Set off by bicycle for about 2 hours along quiet country roads beneath the shade of tall coconut palms to the small town of Ben Tre. Board a local boat and after cruising along a busy branch of the Mekong turn down a peaceful canal and head to a small island orchard for a traditional lunch. 

See how the local famers cultivate their exotic fruits, according to season. After a short siesta in a hammock set off by bicycle for about 2 ½ hours to explore this idyllic backwater. Visit a coconut-candy workshop and see other local handicrafts. Enjoy dinner and over night with your homestay host family and learn more about the local way of life. The total distance cycling this day will be about 35 kms.

Day 2: Cycling Trip to Can Tho   (B/L/D)

 

 Say goodbye to your host family after breakfast and set off cycling along a small trail that follows the river and see more of the way of life of the local farming and fishing communities. Pass through Cho Lach and Cai Mon before reaching Vinh Long with a stop for lunch along the way. Continue by road to the town of Can Tho and midafternoon check in to your homestay. The total cycling this day will be about 40 kms.

Enjoy dinner with you host family with free time to explore Can Tho.

Day 3: Visit the floating Market of Cai Rang and Return to From Ho Chi Minh City   (B/L/-) 

 

In the morning say goodbye to your host family and at 08.30 board a local boat to visit the Cai Rang floating market. Continue up quiet, winding waterways that thread between the many islands dotting the Del ta. After this it is back onto your bikes for a final 2-hour cycle though stunning scenery meeting many local people along the way. After a local lunch, set off by road back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. End of tour.
